Are your chances of having Cancer larger if you have both a complex ovarian cyst and thickening lining of the uterus? Can you biopsy both the uterus and the ovarian cyst during the same procudure?

I felt nauseous, like I had the stomach flu then later learned the large cyst was gone. Could those symptoms have been related?

It could be.
When they rupture, not dissolve (they can dissolve by themselves) you'll get stomach pains and feel REALLY nauseous, and have headaches….
so it could be related, but im no doctor, so i cant give you a sure answer.

just be happy it's gone! those things can really bug you xD

I've been having pain in my lower abdomen (kind of a cramp like pain) and my lower back. Could that be an ovarian cyst?

No way to tell what is going on, pain and cramping is normal to some people during their periods. Best to see your Dr for a check up he/she will know more about it than anyone on here. Don't be scared, get a check up every year anyway just in case there is a problem, if there is one the earlier they know about it the easier it is to fix. Good luck!

I need surgery for an ovarian cyst that I have (18 x 17 x 13) and I just wanted to know if anyone has any information about what recovery time was like for them, how they felt when they actually woke up from the surgery, and how they felt after the already came home from the surgery for a period of time. Thank you for any information that you may have concerning this!

I haven't had any removed because mine always ruptured and that hurts worse than having the surgery according to my dr. Give it two weeks and see how you feel. If nothing gets better and the dr.s dont' give you anything for pain ask for something. Good luck!

Heat or ice for ovarian cyst pain?

I have an ovarian cyst. Is a heating pad or ice going to help the painn better.

Hi Emily,

Use whichever brings you the most comfort, sometimes it might be weight too, as in a heavy pillow or even a book. You could try using the reflexology points for ovaries. The reflex point lies midway between the outside ankle bone and back of heel. Do small circular motions with your thumb. If you feel any sensitivity in the area, you’re there! You may not feel anything, but that’s okay too. Also, using your thumb again, ‘inchworm’ (like flexing your thumb) from this point, across top of foot (bringing you just below the ankle bone) to the inside of foot.

This point is also on the hand. It’s right below the wrist bone on pinky finger side. Follow the pinky finger bone down to the bend in the wrist, and go a bit further to the outside, still in the fatty area. Your thumb will “fall’ into it. Again, do the circular, then inchworm across top of hand. Do both hands or feet, switching thumbs as needed.

Odd note perhaps, ovarian cysts relate to blocked creativity. This doesn’t mean you have to start oil painting, it can relate to job situations or relationships that are ‘blocking’ what you need to be. Being a woman in a man’s world isn’t easy….a lot of us have those cysts. :)))

what does ovarian pain on both sides mean?

I have had ovarian pain on both sides (I think it is my ovaries) for the last 2 days. It is a little painful to walk, especially when I stand from a sitting position (I feel the pain in my ovaries as if there is pressure). I recently went off birth control 3 weeks ago, so I’m wondering if this could be the cause? Any suggestions?

pelvic inflammatory disease comes to mind…suggest you see your gynecologist.

I just found out that I have ovarian cysts, my doctor said that they are small and that a lot of women have them and it is nothing to be concerned about. I also had a miscarriage 6 wks ago and from researching on-line I am worried that having the cysts could have caused my miscarriage.

the cysts dont usually cause miscarriages, they just make getting pregnant more difficult

I have an appt with my dr scheduled for next week but was wondering if anyone could briefly provide me with a breakdown of what the symptoms are of an ovarian cyst. I've been having some discomfort near my pelvic area. I also have had nauesa as well.

I'm not sure if I should be worrying because I have been on the pill for about a month. Does birth control change anything? Thanks

I had one and it always felt like pointing/stabbing pain in the area of my ovary. I also has fibroids and was just a female mess so to speak. I was diagnosed thru ultrasound to confirm what I had as Dr's. kept telling me it was just period symptoms. Needless to say a hysterectomy took care of all of it.
